Weight Management - Mounjaro

Tirzepatide, commonly known as Mounjaro, is a drug that up to now has only been prescribed for people with type 2 diabetes. Recently published NHS guidance is now recommending this is also considered as an option for managing overweight and obesity, alongside a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity.

 

The NHS in Devon are developing plans to be able to make Mounjaro available to suitable people who meet specific clinical criteria to enable an NHS health professional to prescribe it.

While they are in the process of developing these plans, please do not make a GP appointment to ask for Mounjaro for weight management, as we are not able to prescribe it currently.
