Complaints

We take all suggestions, concerns and complaints very seriously. Our aim is to provide the highest standard of care, and we follow a consistent and fair process when handling any issues raised by our patients.

Although we prefer complaints to be made in writing (as this helps us to investigate thoroughly and provide a detailed response), we are also happy to discuss concerns with patients over the telephone or in person. Written complaints can be addressed to our Operations Manager, Mrs Z. Smale, and emailed to: bideford.systmone@nhs.net (please mark for her attention in the subject line).

We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and investigate it in line with the NHS complaints procedure. You will be kept informed throughout the process, and we will provide a full response once our investigation is complete.

Health Complaints Advocacy Service

If you feel you that have not received the level of service you expected from the NHS and wish to make a complaint, you have the legal right to support from an independent complaints advocate. An advocate is an experienced professional who can help you understand the process, express your concerns, and ensure your complaint is heard.

From Bideford Quay proceed up the High Street. At the top junction turn left and then first right into Abbotsham Road. After 100 metres turn right into the Bideford Hospital entrance and turn immediately left at the mini roundabout. The Medical Centre is then 50 metres on your left.

Parking at the medical centre

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems are operated by Total Parking Solutions in all car parking areas related to Bideford Medical Centre. This to help manage our limited parking resources and ensure our patients & visitors can park when required.

Should patients and visitors require more than one hour's parking, please complete a parking extension request form with your vehicle registration number details at reception on arrival.

Signage will be in place at the entrances to both the Patients & Visitors car park and the Staff, Patients & Visitors car park advising drivers of the Terms & Conditions attached to using Bideford Medical Centre’s car parks.

Any unauthorised vehicles parked in the car parks in excess of one hour will receive a Parking Charge Penalty. Any person receiving a Parking Charge Penalty can appeal in writing to Total Parking Solutions.
