Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 recognizes that members of the public have the right to know how public services are organized and run, how much they cost and how decisions are made.
From 1st January 2005 the Freedom of Information Act will oblige all General Practice to respond to requests about information that they hold and record in any format. The Act will create a right of access to that information. These rights are subject to some exemptions which have to be taken into consideration before deciding what information can be released (ie information might be withheld to protect various interests which are allowed for by the Act. If this is case, the practice must tell you why they have withheld information).
Under General Data Protection Regulation you are also entitled to access your clinical records or any other personal information held about you by our practice. You can request to see your own medical record by contacting the practice (with a subject access request aka SAR) or alternatively, sign up for patient online services where you have the option to view portions of your medical record via a secure web portal (provided by our TPP our clinical system supplier).
GP Earnings
All GP Practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working in Bideford Medical Centre in the last financial year was £72,806 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 3 full time GPs and 11 part time GPs.
