Here is a summary of the recently updated COVID mask policy for healthcare settings, including Bideford Medical Centre, as of June 2022:

  • Patients are no longer required to wear a face covering (but are welcome to wear one as a personal preference)

  • Patients who attend with suspected COVID or respiratory symptoms should wear a mask or face covering if tolerated

  • Healthcare staff will continue to wear masks where there is a risk of COVID-19 transmission or the patient is vulnerable / has reduced immunity

  • Healthcare staff will also put on a mask if the patient makes a reasonable request for them to do so

  • We will continue to use social distancing in the surgery to help patients flow through the practice and reduce disease transmission

We are an Armed Forces veteran friendly accredited GP practice.

This means that, as part of the health commitments of the Armed Forces Covenant, we have a dedicated clinician who has a specialist knowledge of military related health conditions and veteran specific health services. This is important in helping ex-forces to get the best care and treatment.

If you are ex-forces, please let your GP know to help ensure you are getting the best possible care.

Please support your local GP practice team - they provide an amazing service to our community.

At Bideford Medical Centre we get thank yous, compliments and praise from many many patients which we really appreciate. However patients are not always kind to our staff and this YouTube video gives an idea of some of the things that are said to them....and yes some of this does happen in North Devon and at Bideford Medical Centre.

Please treat our staff with respect they have a difficult job and are here to help you.
